Folio > Signage Applications
Working with signage and large format applications has almost a different set of ‘rules’ than designing for print or web.
These projects are usually large (sometimes enormous) where we need to be mindful of working to an achieveable scale such as having enough resolution in photographic images that will successfully withstand enlargement and not dissolve into a pixelated nightmare. We also have a number of procedures in place for checking the colour translation of digital prints, as well as the font size.
Interpretive signage must always be clear, informative, durable and if outdoor, withstand harsh exposure of sun, graffiti and wind loads. We have prepared numerous outdoor signs with detailed map artwork across the Territory’s various drives and historic trails.
We are constantly looking for new, innovative ways to do things – technology has remarkably changed this arena with new printing, laminating and laser cutting techniques as well as new printable materials that includes silks and fabrics, textured materials and even corrugated surfaces.
